Victor M240 Electronic Rat Trap

We haven't caught one rat with it yet, so far not so impressed with this product, especially for the price.

Saw a mouse scurry across my living room one night. The next day, after researching the best way to kill it, I bought a Victor electronic mouse and rat trap--the one with the large opening & holes in the back.

I spread some peanut butter through the holes being careful not to drop any on the plates (it would help if we could open this area making it easier to spread the peanut butter & then clean it) but in any case I put the trap in the bathroom where I had found a dead mouse (yuk) while looking for openings. Found the dead one inside the bathroom cabinet under the sink.

I was floored since I'd just looked in there a week ago. It looked as though the door had smashed it. I sometimes don't turn the lights on putting something in. Plus I found numerous entry ways I'll have to cover plus put ammonia drenched cotton balls down. At around 11pm last night I heard a snap. The next day the mouse was dead inside & the light was flashing.

Caught a rat first night. Only negative is there is no plastic shelf inside to put bait on. You have to smear peanut butter on the mesh at the end of the trap. This is messy.

Victor M240 Electronic Rat Trap

The Victor Electronic Rat Trap activates when a rat touches the metal plates inside the plastic housing, completing the circuit. The patent pending three plate design reduces escapes and provides a 90% kill rate. Kills rats in moments. A green indicator light flashes for up to 24 hours to signal that a rat is in the trap. Effective, quick kill. Easy to use, easy to bait with peanut butter. For indoor use. Requires 4 C batteries (not included). Can exterminate approximately 12 rats on one set of 4 "C" batteries (not included). Red light blinks for low battery. Unit size: 8-1/2-by-4-by-4-1/2-inches. Caution: Inappropriate use may cause electrical shock or serious injury. Never use product around small children, small household pets, life support devices and combustible materials. See product warning for additional details.

Getting Rid of Mice in Your garage

Getting Rid of Mice in Your garage

Many population have mice problems in their garages. These small pests find their way into your home and get the protection they need in your garage. There are many things you are doing to attract them to your carport and a few ways of getting rid of the mice that are in your garage.

Stop attracting the mice. At times you have smells in your carport that are attracting these rodents. One big source of smells is your pet food. Keep this food in sealed warehouse packaging to sell out the smells. If you have foods in the carport that are stored, make sure those are sealed too.

Look nearby your carport for any cracks that mice can get into. Plug all holes with steel wool since mice don't have the potential to chew through it as it's too thick.
If you want to get rid of the mice, there are three primary methods. There are your primary traps, but at times these fail and are messy work with.

There are sticky traps. These work pretty well since they will trap the mice and other insect pests, but some find it inhumane how the mice could be stuck and starve over days.
Lastly, there are electronic mice traps. These are traps designed to eliminate mice and have a quick kill mechanism with a shock. They won't leave the mice halfway alive for hours on end like some other traps.
